Idea for addressing opioid issue wins latest ETSU pitch competition
MedGuardian, an idea to help combat the opioid epidemic and reduce opioid-related health care costs through a smart dose dispenser, won the recent pitch competition hosted by East Tennessee State University’s Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy.
It was one of eight ideas among the teams that competed. Other concepts included: (1) BabyRx that provides parents with evidence-based information to make informed decisions about their health and medication use for themselves and their children; and (2) WOW (Women on Wheels) that provides patient-centered care to women through education and health screenings that is readily accessible and cost effective.
