TN’s venture capital dollar investments rise in Q2
As previously reported, a total of $7.0 billion was invested in 898 venture capital deals in the second quarter of 2012, according to the MoneyTree™ Report from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA). The report is based on data provided by Thomson Reuters.
Tennessee’s investment number, while not great, was up from the previous quarter, showing $24.6 million compared to $12.5 million in the first quarter of the year. The number of deals was about the same – seven in Q2 versus 8 in Q1.
Several states did not report any venture capital investments. Counting those, Tennessee ranked ahead of 31 states.
