SCRA awards its first-ever private school grant to Furman University-affiliated start-up
SCRA, officially known as the South Carolina Research Authority, has awarded its first-ever grant to a private university-affiliated start-up. The recipient is Aconabolics LLC, founded by a Furman University faculty member and senior student. The new venture is developing a process for producing molecules used in a technology called metabolic flux analysis which can be used to rapidly diagnose cancer and bacterial infections.
