Branch Technology captures top prize in latest NASA 3D-printed habitat challenge
Yes, it was the team from Branch Technology that captured the top prize in the Phase 2, Level 3 head-to-head ground competition in NASA’s $2.5 million challenge to build a 3D-printed habitat for deep space exploration, including the agency’s journey to Mars. By securing first place, the Chattanooga start-up won $250,000.
We noted in this post last week that the competition was over the weekend. Below is a picture from the NASA Twitter feed with Branch Founder Platt Boyd fourth from the right and the $250,000 check.
“The Branch + Foster team is ecstatic with the results of theNASA competition and look forward to next steps on the journey to prove out 3D printing’s viability,” Boyd told us last night in a text message.
