Cirruspath launching new products with local celebration

September is shaping-up as an important and exciting month for Cirruspath, and Knoxvillians are invited to participate in the celebration of the start-up’s newest product.
The company, co-founded by former college classmates Brandon Bruce and Ryan Huff, was first profiled on teknovation.biz three years ago after it launched Cirrus Insight, an application that connects Google Apps with Salesforce. Next week, the company will release Cirrus Insight for Outlook for customers who use Microsoft email.
“We are inviting all of our local clients and supporters and the entire Salesforce community to join us next Thursday (September 10) for a special celebration,” Bruce told us earlier this week. It is billed as the “Pre-Dreamforce Pub Night 2015” and will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Casual Pint at Northshore Town Center.
“We’ll have free beer to celebrate the launch of our newest Salesforce products for Office 365 and Outlook,” Bruce added.
The event precedes the opening of Dreamforce, the annual developer and user conference that Salesforce holds in San Francisco. Cirrus Insight is hosting a happy hour on September 15 in San Francisco, and Bruce says 3,000 people have already registered for the reception.
Founded nearly four years ago, Cirrus Insight links Salesforce, the highly popular customer relationship management software, with Gmail and the entire Google Apps family.
“We had been 100 percent focused on connecting Salesforce with Google Apps,” Bruce explained, but that has changed. The company has now broadened its offerings to include Office 365 as well as those who are still using various versions of Outlook.
“We realized that Outlook and Office 365 provided an even larger market opportunity for us,” he said. Only 20 to 25 percent of companies use Google Apps. The balance is mostly using some version of Outlook.
The new Cirrus Insight product is available to individuals as well as companies. Cirrus Insight for Outlook supports both Outlook 2010 and 2013, while Cirrus Insight for Office 365 supports Outlook on the Web and Outlook 2013. All come with mobile apps to connect email with Salesforce via iPhone, iPad and Android mobile devices.
Bruce says Cirrus Insight’s new offering was driven in part by the number of companies still using Outlook 2010 that have no plans to upgrade soon.
“We’ve been doing pre-sales of Cirrus Insight for Outlook, and we’ll officially launch the application next week,” Bruce said. “A number of companies have taken us up on the pre-sale discount.” The subscription link is here.
“We are really excited about this new offering,” he said. “And we look forward to continuing to expand the Cirruspath team here in Knoxville.”
