SBA plans livestreaming session for women raising venture capital
It’s “Small Business Week,” and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has organized a special livestreaming event to celebrate women entrepreneurs. Called the InnovateHER: 2015 Innovating for Women Business Challenge, it begins at 10 a.m. EDT this Friday, May 8. Here’s a portion of the SBA media announcement.
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Small Business Administration will announce the winners of its InnovateHER Business Challenge at a National Small Business Week event, “2015 InnovateHER Business Challenge Finals,” on Friday, May 8, 2015.
The InnovateHER Business Challenge is a nationwide business competition to unearth innovative products and services that help impact and empower the lives of women and families. The top 15 finalists have been invited to travel to Washington, D.C. on May 8 for a live pitch competition before a panel of expert judges for the top three awards and prize money totaling $30,000. The prizes are provided by Microsoft.
The pitch competition will be followed by an investor panel moderated by entrepreneur and CNBC on-air contributor Carol Roth. Both the pitch competition and investor panel events will be live streamed at www.sba.gov/nsbw.
