Roane State holding “Mechatronics Showcase” on December 3
One of the buzz words that you hear fairly frequently these days in the manufacturing sector is the term “mechatronics.” It is a critical element in the ability of industries to move up the value chain into more advanced manufacturing.
To do so, however, companies need well-trained technicians. That’s where Roane State Community College (RSCC) comes into play. The institution has a one-year mechatronics training program where students can learn robotics, electronics, computer science and other disciplines to fill these advanced manufacturing jobs.
To better familiarize high school students and others with the career opportunities that mechatronics training offers, RSCC is working with several area manufacturers to hold a “Mechatronics Showcase.” It will be held from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, at the institution’s Clinton Higher Education and Workforce Training Facility, 214 Nave Street.
In addition to being able to interact with representatives of local companies, attendees will also have the opportunity to see demonstrations of advanced manufacturing equipment.
There is no registration fee, and pre-registration is not required. For more information, click here.
