David Cummings‘ latest column discusses a recent opportunity that the Founder of Atlanta Tech Village and also Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Atlanta Ventures had to engage in two meetings with community leaders where they delved into ways to foster the growth of the local start-up ecosystem.
“Our discussions covered a variety of topics, from supporting entrepreneurs to identifying funding sources and implementing programs,” Cummings wrote. “One key takeaway I emphasized was the importance of envisioning the local start-ups in a funnel context, with a wide top and a narrow bottom representing the number of start-ups at each stage of development. To make an impact, it’s essential for the community to narrow its focus and concentrate on a specific segment of the funnel, ideally a niche one.”
